We met Marie-Therese from Artists' Cottages at a BNI Networking event we attended, and after a brief chat following the meeting we arranged a discovery session at our offices in Pudsey.
During the discovery meeting we identified the main problem with their current website was that the off-the-shelf booking system provided by a third party was really difficult to use. It presented potential visitors with a non-mobile friendly table-based interface that was confusing to say the least.
The website itself was also slow, and didn't make the best use of space accross all devices.
We were tasked with resolving these issues. Whilst there wasn't the scope for a full redesign at this early stage, we produced an interactive Adobe XD prototype showing some improvements we wanted to make to the layout and navigation of the site. This also gave us the opportunity to prototype the interface for an on-site booking system.
Once the prototype was signed off, we set to work both rebuilding the website using NodeJS, and adding the booking system to our DashCMS system - integrating both of these to not only allow for a much easier-to-use booking system, but also make it super easy for Artists' Cottages to manage the content on their website.
Whilst Covid-19 has meant the launch of the website might have been met with less fanfare than expected, we're currently underway integrating the website with the Xero accounting package so that invoices and transactions are automatically pulled through there.
